We will depart this morning from Marrakech at 8:00 am in the morning and start travelling Marrakech to Ouarzazate via the Tichka Pass (2260m) the highest road pass in Morocco. Then we continue to visit the Valley of the Roses (Kelaa M’Gouna) the center of Moroccan roses and rose products. Acres of Persian roses are grown and harvested here to create rose water, creams and soaps prized throughout Morocco and the world. We continue passing the strange rock creation of Tamnalt.
After your breakfast, you will start trek with our local guide to mountains where you will explore life of Berber/nomads people in Caves.
We depart Dades Gorge after a leisurely breakfast and travel to another spectacular gorge Todra (the highest oasis in Morocco). The gorge is cut into the ochre-colored cliffs of the High Atlas. Its walls are 300 meters high and at their most narrow part are 20 meters apart. Then we depart Todra Gorge for Merzouga the doorway into the desert then will have Quad ride in dunes ,then later your guide and camels will be waiting for you to carry you across the sandy dunes of the Moroccan Sahara. Camel trek as the sun set across the desert landscape, for approximately 1 to 2 hours to reach you desert camp for the night. Your guide will prepare for you refreshing mint tea and dinner of tagine. Romantic night full of stars with berber music.
You will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, possibly the best moment of the Merzouga desert. Make your way after breakfast towards Fes along the scenic Ziz Valley Gorge, via Azrou and the cedar forests where colony of monkeys will keep you amused.
After breakfast you will begin your guided Tour of Old Madina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruits, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco. A visit to the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and potters are just a few places you will experience. For lunch you will eat at a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch you will complete the tour and return to your Riad where you will have the evening free to explore on your own.
After breakfast, you will begin today’s journey by travelling toward to Meknes. Before that, you will travel back to the 3rd century by visiting the most important archaeological site in the kingdom. It is Volubulis,Walili in Arabic language. Here you go for an hour guided tour through this attractive roman city or what we call the ruins of Volubilis, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997. Next we continue to Meknes, where you will visit the main historical monuments of this city, starting with the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail (1672–1727).Then you will go to the granaries, which was built in 1600s.They were ingeniously designed. Tiny windows, massive walls and a system of underflow water channels kept the temperatures cool and air circulating. He didn’t store food for humans, but grain and hay to feed his 15,000 horses. Next, you will stop as well to get pictures of the Bab Al Mansour – the Great Gate, which was built in the 11th century. Meknes has been greatly impacted by the Moorish style building. It is now the fifth largest city of the kingdom since it has a good economy based mainly on agriculture, olives and wine. You will have lunch here in Meknes. Then we will drive towards Chefchaouen.
You will start the day by exploring Medina. Chefchaouen is a beautiful unique city with its white washed walls and its blue doors and windows. Unlike many parts of Morocco, Chefchaouen was occupied by Spain. Therefore there is much influence of the Spanish civilization and architecture. You have the opportunity to meet locals and walk in this beautiful Medina.Then travel toward Casablanca , where you will see the biggest mosque in Africa,
